September Is
Life Insurance
Awareness Month
Is Your Life Insurance Still Enough for the Life You’ve Built?
Life insurance is designed to help protect the people who depend on you—but simply having a policy does not always mean you have the right amount or type of protection. As your income, family, home, debts, and financial responsibilities change, a policy purchased years ago may no longer provide the protection you intended.
In recognition of Life Insurance Awareness Month, this month’s blog explores what your paycheck truly provides, why employer-provided life insurance may not be enough on its own, and the important life changes that should prompt a review of your policy. It also offers five practical questions to help you determine what—and who—you want your life insurance to protect.

How Changes in Income
Can Affect Your Health Insurance and Tax Bill
A raise, new job, marriage, retirement-account withdrawal, or other change in household income may not seem like a health insurance event—but it can be. For clients enrolled in Marketplace coverage, these changes may affect the financial assistance that lowers their monthly premiums.
Beginning with the 2026 tax year, the previous repayment limits for excess Advance Premium Tax Credit no longer apply. Receiving more assistance than you ultimately qualify for could mean repaying the full excess amount
when you file your federal tax return.
In this month’s blog, we explain why keeping your Marketplace application current is more important than ever, which income and household changes should prompt an update, and how reporting changes promptly— within 30 days for Georgia Access clients
—may help prevent an unwelcome surprise at tax time.
Read This Month’s Blog Learn which changes to report and why timing matters.
